The FastBack is literally three car seats in one and changes smoothly as your child grows from 22 lbs up to 120 lbs. It is a forward-facing car seat with a built-in harness up to 70 lbs, a high-back booster seat up to 100 lbs and a backless booster seat up to 120 lbs. All three modes of use feature soft plush seat covers with a cup and a media holder.
The FastBack features a structural steel frame with an innovative Rigid Energy Management System (REMS), the easiest, most secure and reliable attachment method available. Designed to exceed all governmental safety standards and reduce the movement of the car seat in a crash. The REMS is far superior over belted systems in that it allows the child to benefit from the vehicle’s own built-in energy management.
Three easy steps are all that is required to install the FastBack using the vehicle’s LATCH anchors ( , ) and it can be installed in less than a minute. To further aid the comfort and safety of the child, the Fastback also features Flex-Sides™, which automatically narrow to cradle a smaller child or flair out for a growing toddler. Best of all, no harness re-threading is required to adjust the back up or down.
The seat is designed to easily adjust as your child grows and can be adjusted quickly and easily without removing the seat. By simply pushing one button located on the front of the car seat, a person can easily adjust the seat back or head rest as needed. The eight position seat back, three position head support and Flex-sides™ all include energy absorbing EPS and EPP foam for comfort and increased side-impact protection.
