Albany Law School Government Law Center Launches New Blog on Government Reform

Albany, NY (PRWEB) January 31, 2012

The Government Law Center (GLC) at Albany Law School has launched a new blog, Government Reform (http://governmentreform.wordpress.com/), to provide information and analysis on myriad issues related to government structural and service delivery reform. Written by Albany Law School professors and attorneys working at the GLC, the blog covers government reform at the state and local level across the United States.

Although only a few weeks old, the blog has published dozens of posts on a variety of timely government reform topics, including social impact bonds, public private partnerships, mandate relief and tax caps. The blog has already gained a number of followers from all over the world, with comments posted from other countries such as Australia, and its information has been reposted by a number of readers.

“The launch of the Government Reform blog is a logical continuation of the GLC’s long-standing research agenda on many aspects government reform,” said Albany Law School Associate Dean and GLC Director Patricia Salkin. “Since the 1990s the center has engaged in national research and produced considerable scholarship on legal aspects of state and local government reform. This blog provides a vehicle to share our ongoing research in another format that is digestible and inviting to the public.”

Dean Salkin continued, “The GLC has committed to focus on government reform efforts over the next couple of years, with a number of programmatic initiatives soon to be announced.”

The blog is the latest addition to an expansive portfolio of online work by the GLC, including blogs that address public authorities (http://publicauthorities.wordpress.com/) and land use (http://lawoftheland.wordpress.com/).
